Pros' and Cons'
I don't care where you stay, there will be things we like and things we don't even if it is 5 stars. First impressions was very dated and needs remodeling. The hotel only offers continental coffee in the morning and if you don't get there early enough you will miss it, however there is a coffee maker in your room if you should want to sleep in.There was all the appliances of a kitchen, including plates, glasses, utensils to eat with and cook with, bowls, slow cooker toaster, everything you should need to cook a meal, very impressed with that, minus the dishwasher so you have the option to shop for food and cook your own breakfast, lunch, dinner. There is an ABC store within walking distance from the resort so you have quick access for groceries if you plan to eat in your room. We were on the 35th floor, the views were spectacular every morning and night. The location was blocks from the famous waikki beach and shopping, restaurants etc.I felt the staff was helpful untill there was a problem with the internet and then it seemed they did not want to help you.The parking garage attendant needs a class in being nice. The pool was very nice, didn't use the tennis courts, the weber grills or the sauna, but thought that was cool if you were with a group of people and wanted to cook out and the sauna was a nice touch too if you wanted to relax after a long day of seeing the sites. There is a computer room, minimal charge for the net, on the 6th floor/office area for those that cannot leave the work at home or forgot there laptops. There is on the 5th floor a small conv. store everything from booze to food to gifts. Thought that was handy to have after a long day of sites you can take an elevator down, buy a bottle of wine and some postcards,go to the pool or your room and never leave the resort. There is a coin operated washer and dryer available on every floor. There is no restaurant or bar which was kinda a bummer but you are in the heart of every resort and hotel under the sun so you won't have a hard time finding something. The elevators I thought were very slow and sometimes the roomservice would be using the guest elevators which did not allow guest to get onto the elavator and would have to wait for the next one.I have never experienced elevator traffic like that before.Lets face it, I didn't go to Hawaii to sit in the resort the whole week and neither are you.Overall I would return to this resort when I decide to visit Hawaii again.
