Not a place for a noise sensitive single

The upper floors of the hotel have wonderful views and the hotel has many other pluses. However, if you are a single traveler and are the least bit sensitive to noise, be very, very wary. The hotel is located on a hill on a main road leading into town. They have 5 single rooms on the second floor where you can literally reach out and touch the buses going by. The noise all night from the motorcyclists accelerating up the hill made it the worst of my 200+ hotel stays. For some reason the second floor rooms were the only ones that didn't have wooden shutters to deaden the noise, though that is the one place where they are needed the most. Although people were leaving the hotel every day they wouldn't change me. (That may have been a function of what my tour company was paying them.)On the fifth morning at dawn I searched the surrounding area and told them I'd change hotels that night if they couldn't move me. That motivated them to find another room, right next to the cocktail lounge that was a big improvement (at least after midnight) but far from good. However, if you are not a single occupancy or can sleep through a bombing raid, you'll probably like the hotel.
