Where to start... The location is decent, a little off the beaten trail but not too far. The lobby is quaint with the exposed brick and other decor. Other than having an on-site restaurant/bar, there is little to be desired here. The hardwood floors have a certain charm except you can hear every door open and close in your hallway, and at each closing of a door, your room shakes. The cleaning staff is incredibly noisy as you can hear them down the hall as well. The hardwood floors were significantly dirty (I wore white socks one night and now the bottoms are black.) The mandatory daily phone/internet fee of $6.95 was unannounced and basically useless. My remote control did not fully work. The front desk staff was rude and impatient. Their hospitality folder in the room is not updated (even the name of their restaurant was incorrect). There is very little helpful information such as maps, events etc., in the lobby. I could go on but I think you get the point. I looked into the suites next door for prices, and actually got to see two of the suites. If you like this location and don't need the historic feel for your lodging, I'd recommend looking next door.
