Liked it, for the most part.
We just returned from a three night stay at the Grand Country Inn and for the most part, it is a very nice place to stay. The waterpark was a little smaller than I thought it would be and the water was a little cold, but our children had a wonderful time. The hot tubs at the indoor waterpark were too cold, made our eyes burn and two of us got itchy rashes from all of the chemicals in the hot tubs so we really didn't get to enjoy them. The indoor pool was very nice. The water was nice and warm, although the water in the hot tub by the indoor pool was so hot that it would almost scald you, so we didn't get to enjoy that either. I was disappointed in the fact that everything is in seperate buildings. I paid extra to stay in the building that the waterpark was in because we have two small children that I didn't want to have to drag outside in wet clothes, only to find out that it's not in the same building at all. They lack to tell you that when you make your reservations although they still charge you $10.00 extra per night to be in the building 'close' to the waterpark. And then, you either have to walk a long distance or drive to get to the indoor pool building, which is not fun when it's 25 degrees outside. I was also disappointed that all of the gift shops were closed. The hotel was packed with people and all of the shops were closed. Doesn't make any sense. We did eat at the pizza buffet and the Grand Country Buffet and both were very good. My husband and son both enjoyed the mini-golf, but the arcade was disappointing. A lot of the games didn't work and the prize selections that you get for your tickets are a joke. Our room was ready for us when we checked in and was clean. The cleaning people were very nice and came in everyday and made the beds and left fresh towels. Although, the rooms could use a little updating. A little fridge and microwave would be nice, especially if you have small children. This is the first hotel that we have stayed at that didn't have these amenities, which nowadays you take for granted because ALL hotels have them, well, except this one, I guess. Would I stay here again...maybe, if they updated the rooms a little bit.
