Great place ... 2nd trip

This is a lovely holiday spot ... the food is very good but in a 2 week period it does get repetitious. However there are marvelous restaurants to go if you want a change - be sure to look up 'l'Recif - phenomenal evening - one of the best restaurants we have come across & a wonderful way to end out stay...(and good pricing as well) - contrary to the one negative review listed here about this restaurant, our experience was certainly a positive one and we highly recommend it. Also try the restaurants in Barre Navidad - ie: Charlie's on the Beach - excellent seafood! And others on island at Barre Navidad. We were there 10 years ago, not much changed other than that the food is not as varied as it was then. The rooms are clean, the staff are very pleasant and accomodating, service overall is excellent, and the pool is marvellous!! - Marco and Francisco certainly make one feel welcome in Mexico!! We were initially put into a very nice room, however it is very close to the Disco - beware of this as the noise is incredible. We asked to move and the staff were very accomodating. Our next room was great, though the maid service in this one was not of the calibre of the first room(ie: no flowers left in the room, towels not displayed nicely) - as you can tell we were spoiled in the first one. Other than that, this room was clean and nice. The internet service here is entertaining to say the least! Unless absolutely necessary, I think I would give this a miss. There were 4 of us staying from Feb 24-Mar 10/07 and to the person, we would all return. Good value for your money. It is not a 5-star but then you are not paying for a 5 star.
