We just returned from Hawk's Cay. Had a nice time, but it was way too expensive. It did not live up to its web site. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa (without the pool). Our "special rate" of $275 turned out to be close to $335 per night with taxes and fees. This was in August which should be value season in the keys. We had a problem with ants in the villa. The property around the main hotel where the pool is located and the hot tub seems dated, as did the pool furniture. There was a long walk to the pool, but it was quicker to walk than take their transportation. The spa is nothing special. Steam room was not working and you have to pay extra to use it anyway. The fitness center was good. The dolphins were amazing and in my opinion the best thing about this resort. We will not go back because of the price. Also, the service was pretty below average. I was never able to get anyone to answer my questions at the concierge table because they were always on the phone. We did the dolphin encounter ($135 per person) and loved it, but the leader spoke way too fast, I could not understand what she was saying. You can enjoy watching the dolphins for free. I would certainly recommend this.
