We loved the rooms, the retro "eames" feel of the place was great. The walkout patio was fabulous, giving each room a great place to sit and watch the sunset. We were headed toward Key West and stopped here because we just couldn't drive one more mile and we were so pleasantly surprised. Sugarloaf lodge snapped us into the reality of the keys. Life just moves slower and that is a very good thing. There was a really cool tiki bar and a pool and there must have been a blue hair convention but we loved every single minute of it. We had breakfast in the cafe type place, the service was fairly poor, but not because they were lazy but because some members at our table were clearly not from here and borderline rude. Otherwise the experience was amazing. We spent our evenings with homemade tomato sandwiches and cheap wine. Again loving every minute of it. That was with three kids fresh from the Disney experience on our way to Hemmingway and pirates.
