Although we thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Savannah, we thought the Inn was very expensive. The room was nice and the location was good. However, we were disappointed with the advertised "gourmet breakfast." All I can say is that the breakfast was "OK" but there was nothing special about it. In fact, we were so disappointed that we asked for scrambled eggs the last 2 days. Every time we read a review of the Inn, people always talked about the breakfasts. To be completely honest, I have had better food in a Waffle House. We were also disappointed with the hors d'oeuvres in the afternoon. On one particular afternoon, there was a tray of cucumber sandwiches approximately the size of a silver dollar - and that was it. Of course they had wine, but it certainly what we thought we were getting. The people were friendly, but we won't go back due to the prices. Yes - it is a beautiful Inn, however, it is far too expensive. In contrast, we spent a weekend at Gorham's Bluff in Alabama. The room was nicer, the view was great, the chef prepared a great dinner and a tremendous "country" breakfast was included - and the cost was less than 1/3 of what we paid at the Hamilton-Turner Inn. I'll go back to Savannah, but I won't stay there again. I will commend the staff for their friendliness.
