What my friend and I have to be thankful for is we did not book and pay our full week's stay in Paris in advance, as some tourists do. Fortunately after 2 horrid sleepless nights at Blackston Opera, we managed to escape and find a 'real hotel'
I think I could have ovelooked the absolutely tiny accomodations, (twin beds are pushed together as space is super tight) and the towels that I would not even use to wash my car, were disgraceful, however the concave, hammock-like bed was just too much to bear. The service was almost non-existent, as at night there was only one junior person on front desk who was busy browsing the internet and playing on msn & could offer nothing. Needless to say, we moved and found the Concord Saint Lazare not far away - now that's a hotel!
