Love the beds and the ambience. Very romantic but also a great solo retreat. The breakfast is very high end. Really nice rooms and decor. Feels very special. My sister lives in Laguna Beach so my family and I often stay here when there's a lot of us in town. My brother has stayed in suites and the VERY nice cottage at the top of the property that has its own hot tub. It felt like the kind of place you'd want to write a book in - but it's very expensive.
The Inn at Laguna Beach is also really nice with great beds and views, but not as unique or special. Surf and Sand also really pretty, more hip and modern, rather than cozy and romantic.
Gay friendly (but then probably all of Laguna is) : )
