Creepy Horrible Place!!!

It all started with a robbery in the driveway of Hotel Miramar and it didn't get any better. Two men followed us up the hill and proceeded to rob us as we stopped our car. My sister ran to the LOCKED front door to call for help. It took several minutes for someone to let her in. After the police arrived and took all our information we proceeded to check into the hotel. Daniel didn't understand a word we said as we tried to tell him we were robbed 20 steps from his front door. At that point he didn't speak any English. He was able to tell us that his hotel is very safe and nothing has ever happened there before. Once we were in the room we found a sign in the bathroom warning us to keep the windows or shutters locked. This in addition to the front door being locked at all times didn�t make us feel very safe. We were told to leave our key in the lobby when we went out. The keys are all located near the front door. Not behind the unattended desk but right next to the LOCKED front door. I keep mentioning LOCKED because the side door was WIDE OPEN!!!! Why would you lock the front door and leave the side door open for anyone to walk through? It didn�t make one bit of sense. Since we were robbed upon arrival we were naturally very nervous. We refused to leave our key at the front door. After leaving for the day we came back to an unlocked room. We were furious!! Daniel said he couldn�t lock the door if we didn�t leave the key. Humm.. I do wonder how they opened the door. I have plenty more horrible things to say about this hotel. It was very creepy. I still get a bad feeling when I look at the hotel web site. Upon leaving I had asked Daniel about all his rules. He was able to explain everything in very good English. At that point as had to ask him why his English was so good today but he didn�t understand a word when we need his help after the robbery!!! This was the worst experience of my life. I felt much safer staying in Nice after this trip. I would NOT recommend staying here. The owners are very rude and unfriendly. This is a horrible horrible place!!!!!!! Don�t be fooled!!!!
