Enjoyed the Stay
My wife and I recently stayed at Pavilions and Pools on the east end of St Thomas near the Red Hook area. The hotel suites are actually all privately owned the unit we stayed in was desperately in need of a remodel/updating. The tile floors were cracked, the furniture was tired and overdue for replacing, the tile in the shower was missing some tiles and needed regrouting. The pool was salt water, but crystal clear water, with some green algae in the corners. The bbq grill was in poor shape and needed replaced.
Now for the positives. It was a wonderfully private and quiet place to stay. You won't find a more friendly and helpful staff on the whole island. The location while not on the beach, is a short (3-5min) walk to beautiful saphire beach. It is located near Red Hook which has plenty of restaurants. It is near the ferry dock to St John, or Tortola. It is wonderful to be able to return to your room at the end of a long day of snorkeling and hanging out at the beach and to be able to throw some steaks on the grill and eat a nice casual (low cost) meal at your own private villa.
I would definitely return again, I however would hope that the units would be refreshed or remodeled slightly prior to my next visit. This seems to be a common theme on St Thomas, as I found out speaking to many other vacationers about their respective hotels and resorts.
