Hotel Kyriad in Melun - Several steps below Motel 6
You may want to brush up on your French before embarking on a trip to Melun or Rubelles where the hotel Kyriad is actually located. Unlike Paris, very few people speak anything other than French so communication may be a problem.
Our room was small but that could have been overlooked had it at least been clean...it wasn't. We had to clean the cob webs off the bathroom counter and dust/debris off the window sill before our one year old could stand there and take in the view of the highway. The maids were very nice, but the room was only sort of vaccumed once in the five days we were there. The front desk staff was curt and when they did speak English, it was only to be more effective at being sarcastic. I would not recommend the hotel Kyriad in anything other than emergency lodging circumstances.
Melun is an hour and a half from Paris by car or 45 minutes or so by train. To get to Disneyland Paris from the hotel you have to either take a train to Paris and change lines to take another train to Marne le Valle where the park is located or take a taxi which will run you $150 euro minimum...if the traffic is running well (which it very seldom is).
