Old Fashioned Charm
Imagine entering a lobby of a smallish historic hotel and being sereneded by southern ballads sung by a beautiful Black women in a historic long gown, accompanied by a man on a grand piano. The fireplace is lit and couches, chairs and tables are cozily placed around the room. A simple afternoon tea is served- and it is all complimentary, even if you do not stay at the hotel.
The hotel has an enclosed brick paved courtyard with iron tables and chairs, a fountain and trees lit by twinkling lights.
The rooms may be smaller and the baths not as luxuirious as new building, but the historic charm is there and it is comfortable.
Very, very pleasant relaxing stay, right across the park to River Street.
