EXCELLENT location--within walking distance of all the major museums, downtown, the National Cemetery, and the ghost tours, if that's your thing. You can get to the new vistors center on foot, but it's a bit of a hike. Shares a parking lot with the tour bus company, which is a good option if you are not familiar with the battlefield.
The facilities themselves were fine, no complaints with interior. I do second one suggestion given about getting a room on the backside of the hotel--the streetside can be quite noisy. There is no functioning restaurant in the building anymore--they do serve a complimentary continental breakfast. The pet-friendly policy is a definite plus for those that need it (and Gettysburg is a great destination for a pet-friendly vacation!)
--Little flexibility with room issues. I accidentally booked a smoking room and they were unable to change it due to being fully booked. (The staff was very considerate and had a clean air machine running, and it worked out just fine for me)
--I paid over $100 for a last-minute booking through Priceline, and I see here others got rooms for as cheap as $70. Their own website books the rooms at $232, which I would say is excessive for what you get. I definitely recommend going through priceline or hotwire to comparison shop first.
Overall I would recommend it, especially for first-time visitors. The amenities and furnishings of the place are nothing special, but any vacation in Gettysburg where you aren't out in the town 90% of the time is a waste anyway!
