We stopped in the Island Fish Company for a late lunch/early dinner. I have to start by saying that the Restaurant is lovely. Great location and excellent staff. Our waiter couldn't have been nicer. With that said, the food was just terrible. I have never eaten a meal where all three courses had absolutely no taste. I started with the Potato Boats. The sauce had no flavor. Next I had the She Crab Soup. It tasted like potato soup with just a hint of crab. The main meal was a seafood combo over linguini. The seafood was good, but there wasn't a hint of the sherry that was supposed to be in the sauce, or anything else for that matter. My Husband had the cherrystone clams which were terrific. For his dinner he had Shrimp Scampi over Linguini. The shrimp were large and fresh, but that is about all I can say for the meal. He wasn't eating the pasta and I asked him why. He told me to taste it and tell him what I thought. It was just oil with a little garlic in it and no seasoning. Just some salt in it would have made it better. Maybe add a little lemon or butter, something. Dinner cost us $120.00 including the tip. You can see we don't mind paying for a good meal. To say we were disapointed is a understatement. I am not sure if the problem is that we were there July 9th, and not during their busy season. I have either been a Cook or Restaurant General Manager for 30 yrs. so I know things can go wrong. Quality Control should be in place all year. We did get a couple nice tee shirts, and the women in the store was a sweetheart. It appears the problem with this restaurant isn't the wait or store staff, it's a problem with the sauces being made in the kitchen.
