This hotel was horrible from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. I was travelling with 5 other people on a shopping trip and when we went to check the rate at the Swiss Cottage Inns, the woman at the front desk said she would accept $90 for 2 rooms as long as it was cash. When we gathered the money together, she decided she wanted to add some tax. We reluctantly stayed.
When I opened the door to the room, I couldn't believe my eyes. It was dark and dirty and seemed as though it had once been an office, as there were two massive floor to ceiling windows making up the corner of the wall. There were 2 dirty beds and a crooked desk. The only amenity was a tiny bar of soap in the bathroom. Because there were no curtains, the light shone through all night long, keeping us awake. And now for the most enjoyable part...
When my boyfiend awoke he decided to have a shower. However, after waiting 10 minutes with the water running it was obvious that there was no hot water. He went to the front desk to ask about the problem, but when he brought it up he got an, "I just got out of bed. I don't want to argue." He tried again to express his concern and the woman OPENED THE DOOR AND TOLD HIM TO GET OUT. It was so rude that he didn't know what to say. She told him to get out again and slammed the door shut, flipped the closed sign on and didn't open it for and other guests trying to enter in the morning.
Be aware that they will say there are no other vacancies in the area and that they only have the number of rooms left that you are requesting.
Hotels like this would be shut down by Health and Safety where I live and I wil NEVER RETURN, even if it means sleeping in my car. Do yourself a favor and go to the Quality in down the road. Their service is spectacular.
