El Prado - Affordable and Clean, Great Location

El Prado is a perfect place to stay if you're looking for something simple and affordable, clean and quiet. It's a couple blocks off the main strip, which makes it peaceful to sit by the little pool (which you'll probably have to yourself). But those couple blocks take a couple minutes to walk, and then your on the main strip with dozens of restaurants, bars, shops and casinos to choose from.
The rooms are simple, nice and clean. The managers are friendly and happy to provide information (and bottled water or towels for the pool or beach). The beach is less than a 10-min walk from El Prado, by the way. Parking is easy, they serve a small breakfast...It's a nice place.
Negatives: The breakfast really isn't much more than some bread and a fruit salad that doesn't look too appetizing. Also, the pool is like the pool you might have in your backyard. This isn't the Marriott.
If I go back to San Juan, I'm definitely staying at El Prado. Inexpensive and walking distance to everything you'll want to do!
