Best Honeymoon Experience At The Sandpearl
Let me start by saying that our first part of our honeymoon was a 7D/6N Carnival Legend cruise to the "Exotic Western Caribbean". We were less than impressed! Sadly, we only had 4D/3N at the Sandpearl. Here's what made it amazing. We were a bit apprehensive of the type of service we would receive after we were let down by the cruise. We approached the front desk and were told that we had a room that overlooked the bay. I'm not a shy person, so I asked if there was any way that we could be upgraded to an ocean front room and that this was the second half of our honeymoon. Moments later she handed us our room key and stated that we were in a one bedroom oceanfront suite The master bedroom had its own flat screen tv, king size bed, safe, ihome docking station and its very own balcony which was separate from the living room balcony. The views from this room were just plain and simply spectacular. The first night we stepped out of our room for a brief period of time to get some dinner. When we arrived back to the room there was a red placemat on the counter with a note stating that there was a little something for us left in the refrigerator. I opened the frig door and found a plate full of chocolate covered strawberries and written in chocolate they wrote "Happy Honeymoon" on the plate. At night there is a turn down service for your bedroom. They place a note along with 2 chocolates on your pillow. They also then take the extra step to turn on some soft music on the ihome docking station. Everyday you are there, you receive two bottles of water complimentary!! Imagine that, free water, now that's a concept.
Around the pool area, there are 2 hot tubs and these amazing cabanas that you can rent for like $30/day if I remember correctly. They come with a full couch, chair, flat screen tv, ceiling fan and mini frig. That would have been so sweet if my husband had some of his friends there and they wanted to watch some football while the girls hung out by the pool. They are enclosed in if there is an afternoon shower while you hang out by the pool too. Anyway, back to the pool. On the back of the lounge chairs, they have these white flags that you raise up if you need any drinks or food brought to your chair!!!!! You can drink, eat and swim without barely moving an inch. The only thing missing would be a catheter to use so you don't have to go to the restroom. :)
Around sunset each night there is a signature drink that they make that you can get and they have a child ring the sunset bell. The sunset, there's just no words to describe how beautiful the sunset is as it sets over the ocean.
Seriously, if I could do marketing for this resort, they would be booked year round with how passionate I feel about it. We plan on trying to vacation there each year on our anniversary. The rate was over $100 LESS than our daily rate on the cruise ship. The saddest thing for us was that we didn't stay there longer. You will not be disappointed, they really treat you like royalty without breaking your bank. I don't know where the Sandpearl gets their staff from, but they all need to be cloned and use to train others in the customer service industry.
One more final thing I wanted to mention (you've probably stopped reading at this point). The room service for in room food delivery is impeccable. They will roll a cart into your room (it's like a small hot box) set your dining room table up with placemats, cloth napkins and even a flower on the center of the table before placing your food down. We had to call one morning to complain about the taste of the V8 juice and you would have thought I was the Queen of Clearwater. They apologized and then had the restaurant manager call our room within minutes to say how sorry she was and that they would be removing the charge off of our bill immediately. Now that's what I call customer service!!
