Pretty Location, Horrible Night's Sleep

We have been to the Cambria Pines Lodge a few times. The best rooms to stay in are the cabins by the pool since they don't have any upstairs neighbors and appear to be the most insulated. If a cabin isn't available, don't bother staying there unless you like to hear every move & sound your neighbor makes. The walls in the 'condo style' rooms are paper thin and if you're unlucky enough to have a neighbor upstairs don't plan on getting any sleep. The maintenance staff started repairing a railing outside our bedroom window at 8:30 a.m. and the management would not do anything about it. After not sleeping all night and then having the staff not care about the early morning noise we were not happy. The management informed us that we were already staying at a 'discounted' rate so they would not take anything additional off for our horrible night's sleep or non-stop banging hammers outside our room and they were very snotty about it. We would've gotten a better rest if we'd have slept in the car! The gardens are beautiful but you'd be better off staying somewhere else and just stopping by to walk thru the garden. That's what we've done since our last stay.
