The Barbizon Palace is terrific. My 19 year old son and I stayed there for four nights and were very pleased with our experience. Our room was very large and comfortable, our bathroom was nice and well-supplied (nice towels, plenty of free toiletries) and we were never disturbed by noise either from the street or from the hallway. The staff was excellent--friendly, knowledgeable, very helpful and efficient. The hotel is located in a convenient spot that makes it easy to walk to most of the great museums in the city; the red light district is very close by as are great shopping areas and terrific restaurants. Because Central Station is virtually next door, you can always find your way back to the hotel easily and catching a canal tour or a tram from there is a breeze. We loved this hotel and would be happy to go back and stay there again.
