Why bother to make a reservation?
After making reservation in February for our July trip, and confirming with a credit card, we arrived at the Belvedere about 5 p.m. on the appointed day, and found that the management had "moved" us to another motel in town -- one that was inferior in services and amenities, dirty and dingy.
We had been bumped from our "reservation" because the day previous to our arrival they had honored a request from a tour bus company to house a busload of tourists. Guess money talks -- and counts more than honesty and respect!
We had reserved a second night at the Belvedere on our way back from Alaska, but not wanting to risk another "bump," we looked for other accommodations. Found very nice, clean cabin in Nugget City, just down the road a few miles from Watson Lake, and promply cancelled our second-night reservation.
In our month-long drive through Canada and Alaska, this was the ONLY disappointment.
How sad that a business cannot honor their commitment to a customer!
