Not a Wynning choice for Hotwire guests
We were celebrating our first wedding anniversary (we married on the 4th of July with fireworks and everything). We had set plans to stay at the Wynn Las Vegas, have dinner, and then go to an expensive show.
We were exhausted and when we arrived to check in at 3 p.m. our Wynn clerk, Christina, said that the room was not ready. Christina said she did not know whether it was going to be ready at 6 p.m. or 9 p.m. My wife needs time to get ready and they did not seem to understand that. Then with a straight face, Christina tried to bully us into buying an upgraded room for $100 more ro face hours of waiting. I had a second take on that one.
We said no thanks. That was insulting and not what we had in mind when we purchased 5 star services. We ended up moving our anniversary dinner for the day after and losing out on the expensive show.
What really infuriated me was when I was waiting in the lobby and began talking to people. They bought their reservations at Hotwire too! I knew they were Hotwire guests because I personally talked to them. They treat you like second class guests if you go through Hotwire to make your purchase.
As I was checking out, I asked Christina and the Wynn staff for a receipt and a print out showing what time we checked in. Christina said she could see it on the screen, but could not print it. So, I left without proof that I was even at the hotel. The only proof I have was with Hotwire. The services were insulting.
Then, you get to the room and wonder what all that was for. It was not a 5 star room. It was more like a 3 or 4 star room. I stayed at the Venetian and that was a 5 star room with helpful staff. The room at the Wynn does not even compare. It is like someone vomited orange and then built a tacky hotel around it. The Wynn staff with their excuses and unwillingness to find a resolution made the situation worse.
After my wife stopped crying, we tried to make the most of our anniversary. We will never forget how Christina and the Wynn staff treated us as we tried to check in. Christina and the Wynn staff really made a dent at the beginning of what was suppose to be a celebration of my first year with my wife.
