Shady Place to Stay
I was pick pocketed in a nearby club which contained my room key. Shortly after that I find my room had been robbed of my phone and wallet. I talked to the night security to call the police. He kept insisting that it was impossible that I could get robbed because he was there all night and they have high walls. He also insisted on not calling the police because he said they would not come late at night.
I decided to talk to the owner the next day in the hopes that they would offer me a discount for being robbed at their "secure" hotel. I explained what happened to him and he also insisted that this was impossible! The owner and security we're completely denying that I could be robbed even though my phone and wallet were missing from my room!
I have heard similar stories from other locals from what they heard on the news. If you are going to stay here, take note that there are safes in the lobby but I would be weary of using those as well.
Also, a receptionist earlier said I could get a discount by paying in cash. Of course, when I go to pay the next day the owner explains that no such discount exists.
The room I had requested was supposed to include breakfast and when I arrived I got a "discount" that I did not ask for that did not include breakfast.
The location of this hotel is good but there are safer and better hotels a few blocks away. In a town the size of Granada, a few blocks is worth it to have a safe hotel.
