Reading a previous review I was somewhat reluctant to try this Inn. However, it was recommended, although with faint praise, by a relative I was visitng who lives nearby. My first contact was by phone for a reservation and pleasntly surprised by her courtesy and helpfullness.
Upon arrival the desk clerk was friendly and also helpful. The room was a bit small and showed signs of age but was clean and the bed comfortable. A balcony overlooking the swimming pool compensated for the size of the room.
I did not try the restaraunt but had a pleasant drink at the bar and expected to pay more than I did for the drink.
My stay was short and I though I received decent value for the cost. My only negative observation was the check-out process which involved entirely too much paperwork.
In my opinion the Inn is good value, especially for its State Street location and I would stay there again.
