Good value and convenient
Hotel New Tanda is very conveniently located about a 8 minute walk from a tram stop (which is about four tram stops from Nagasaki station). You can also forgo the 8 minute walk by changing trams. Ask at the Nagasaki information desk for a map. The staff will show you what I mean.
The hotel carpet and bedding in the rooms was clean and new. LCD TV in the rooms is good. The walls had a few dirty marks and around the air conditioning outlet it was very dirty. This gave our room a bit of a depressing feel, but perhaps I am a bit fussy. I like everything to sparkle. The beds were really comfortable and firm.
The hotel gave us vouchers for breakfast vouchers enabling you to buy a buffet breakfast for 1000 yen. That's pretty good value. If you don't like that, there is a supermarket located between the hotel and the tram stop (the one that's about 8 mins walk).
The hotel is very close to China Town and a very busy restaurant area.
Overall, it was quite good value (we paid 4200 yen per night each but I think we got a discount through my partner's work).
