no pot of gold here
the building itself and the atmosphere of the sea breeze are much more
like a boarding house than a warm and welcoming bed & breakfast.
i wasn't anticipating having to climb such steep stairs. bringing up a heavy
case was very difficult. no assistance was provided or offered.
it is always a comfort for me to read a good book while traveling. but there
was only a little hard wooden chair in the room. i did find a comfortable
chair in a downstairs area that was so dark and dimly lighted that i gave up
on my book. my usual evening ritual of a tea or coffee was not to be had at the sea breeze. the kitchen was dark, no staff around, and the breakfast tables were definitley off limits. although the bed was comfortable and the room clean, it was very cramped. at the morning breakfast service i met the proprietor, atal, who fancies himself quite the ladies man. atal calls himself freddy and says that he is french. he may have lived in france but he appears to be asian or east indian. his flirting was totally unwelcome and odd. i was just glad to be in the car and down the road out of there. i had a haunting feeling as i wondered if my privacy had been violated. would not stay here again and would not recommend
it to my worst enemy.
