Stay in Your Room
Review excerpt
My wife and I go to Las Vegas frequently and this was our first time staying at the Mirage. We have heard great things from friends about the property and the pool.
The room, the bellman and the housekeeper were the ONLY bright spots. 8 hours into my stay I had to ask a BJ pit boss if the impending sale/bankruptcy was affecting the attitude of the staff and he denied any of it and said they were just rumors. I then asked is it a training issue and he walked away in a huff. I was not rude in the least, but I might have caught him off guard even though I can't believe I was the only one noticing.
When I finished for the night I sent an email from my room and recieved a call the next day. I had no plans on returning their call, I didn't want to get into a he said she said match....until I could not get off my floor for the second time due to no elevator working. I brought up my concerns about the attitude at all turns, the broken elevators, the rude sports book, the rude sports bar, the pool closed, the unfriendly dealers, etc. No wonder the tables were empty compared to other places.
In the end I don't know if anything was done about my concerns because I believe it is a system wide problem and it starts at the top. Extensive retraining is needed to keep the customers like myself coming back. I was credited one night on my bill, but that didn't come close to making up for the fact we had to spend most waking hours away from the Mirage just so we didn't give them a dime extra above our room cost and still enjoy ourselves with the time we had left.
I did expect a follow up after the fact, maybe after I got home, but I guess they have decided that I am not worth having back. That just means I will stay out of all their properties around the country.
Looks like Wynn, M, Treasure Island, Ballys, Encore, Paris, Palazzo, Venetion, PH, etc for me, anything but MGM/Mirage.
