Taj Mahal - Your Fired!
The room was a good size. The beds were comfortable. The view of the ocean would have been fabulous if we could have seen through whatever that was dripping down the windows. The bath tub was surrounded with black mold in the grout. We politely requested room service clean it while we were gone all day gambling. After speaking with the Guest Services Representative (who was very nice) we felt a little better. There was a little bit of concern after our discussion because she appeared to know exactly what we were talking about before we finished describing the black mold. I offered to show her a picture of it that I took with my cell phone but she said that would not be necessary. She said she would call and get it cleaned for us. We did not mention the windows because honestly we did not want to be "complainers". After all, windows are much harder to keep clean. We only asked that the mold be cleaned from the bathroom. When we returned to the room, late that night, the black mold was still there. No attempt to clean the bathroom had been made. We couldn't help but wonder how quick Mr. Trump would say "Your Fired" if he had to stay in a room with a bathroom that dirty. Before we checked out, we again politely reported the black mold in the bathroom hoping to help the next guest. We checked out early because we planned to gamble some more and did not want to stop and go get the luggage from the room in the middle of it. As I checked out, my husband went to the Parking Garage where the car was parked in a designated Handicapped Parking Space. He kept his room key to show the Parking Garage Attendant so we would not have to pay the $5 parking fee again. He drove the car back to the front of the Hotel so we could load the luggage. The Parking Garage Attendant made him pay $5 again. He explained that I was inside checking us out of the Hotel but we had been guests for two nights and he had just moved the car. She would not listen so he had to pay $5 again. We went back to the Check Out Guest Services Representative who checked us out and gave her the $5 receipt. She was very courteous and after checking with her supervisor refunded the $5 parking fee. We enjoyed the Casino and the Boardwalk but we will not stay at the Trump Taj Mahal again. The White House Sandwich Shop was great! We ordered the Half Steak Sandwich with cheese, onions and peppers. It was plenty for both of us and it was very good. Tony's Baltimore Grill was also very good. The fried shrimp was fresh and tasty. It is informal and has a homey atmosphere. We also tried Docks Oyster House. We ordered the corn and clam chowder to start the meal off. It was excellent. We also had the seafood platter with friend shrimp, crabcakes and flounder. It was good but honestly probably not worth the price. The atmosphere was so nice and the wait staff couldn't have been better.
