It's not that bad
I feel I must defend this place after staying here maybe a dozen times over the last 20 years. It is nothing fancy, and it lacks amenities, but I have never found it to be dirty or have ants. The indoor pool is a godsend if you are traveling with young kids and have bad weather. It is about halfway between Amagansett and Montauk, about 5-6 miles to each, so you definately need a car. The beach is gorgeous, and THAT is the reason to stay here. If you are looking for anything else, you are in the wrong place. The beach is a natural, unspoiled, uncrowded, gorgeous beach. It is true that it lacks a lifeguard, but many of these beaches out east do. There are always town beaches if you need a lifeguard. My point is, for about $200 or less per night in the summer, you are maybe 100 yards from one of the best beaches in the world, next to $5 milion dollar houses. That $150-200 during the high season is about half of what neighboring properties charge. There are some tables and chairs to eat outside, and their may be a few barbeque grills. There is no internet access, and the cable hook up that they let me use didn't work. If you are not here for the beach, forget it!
