Intersting Historic Inn
The history and intrigue of the Julian Gold Rush Hotel lured me into getting accommodations. The former owner, ex-slave Albert Robinson, still roams the site. As an amateur paranormal investigator, I was extremely in awe with the activity I experienced. Please don't get the wrong idea and back away from the Inn; many historic Inns have paranormal activity. The hotel is nestled in the heart of Julian. The rooms are decorated beautifully, though very small. Rooms are clean & well taken care of. The hosts were gracious and you felt as if you were visiting a long-lost relative. Board games are available in the parlor area downstairs, and you may take a game to your room if you wish. The breakfast was good as well. I would recommend the hotel as a nice getaway if you are from the San Diego area, or to anyone travelling through Julian.
I liked the fact that the rooms were ensuite (nice clean bathrooms in the rooms) and very quiet for the most part. The rooms are very very small, so just be aware of this. Room 11 has a bit more room on each side of the bed.
