Typical Northern Charm
The Bodo Hotel may not be the biggest or the fanciest hotel in this working town, but it certainly is the most 'Norwegian'. Everything about this hotel is authentically northern Norwegian. The kitchen serves a very traditional breakfast (no Dennys here) with plenty of smoked salmon and mackerel spread. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms are small but cozy, the view is notreally that great, but the location in the middle of downtown is outstanding. Walking distance to several restaurants, bars and a couple rowdy nightclubs. Priced below all of the downtown hotels. Bodo also is the most under-appreciated and under-visited town in this extreme and beautiful area of Norway. Incredibly friendly people living in a place that most other residents of earth would find uninhabitable. Incredible hiking, climbing, boating, kayaking, skiing (no lifts- real backcountry skiing here).
