We stayed late Feb. 2007, our first room was hot and stuffy, the air conditioner did not work and teenagers were climbing from balcony to balcony on the 6th floor. The front desk, maintenance and security did respond promptly. They moved us to a second room, the air conditioner did work, but the room was very shabby, the wallpaper was peeling, there was obvious mold in the bathroom and it was generally in poor condition. The bathroom mirror needed replaced, the silver was about half gone on it. They were painting in the tower, the stairs were blocked off due to painting, and in the first room, they had been spray painting in the hallways, and the carpets were covered with overspray and the paint smell was bad. Since the reviews on the Internet indicated all the work was done, we were very disappointed. We were here for 2 nights, and spent as little time as possible in the room and could not wait to get out. Don the Beachcomber restaurant is still not open.
