Just from reading the previous reviews, I had to say something. I can tell that, not many of the reviewers know the islands, or what they offer. They (reviewers) compare a discount hotel against what? The "Hilton", if you think that $80 bucks a night, is not discount, then you need to check local rates ($150 a night average). If you are concerned about dirty lanai railings, to few amenities, building age, etc., why didnt you go to the resorts in Waikoloa, and pay the $300 a night??? What great location, ease of access, killer view, means nothing to you???? Or what???? Seems that most of the reviewers came to see the hotel, instead of the island, hey youre just sleeping there.
Take it from a local, which has stayed at all of them resorts included. For the money, youre not going to find a better deal . more important than that, for visiting Kona, you couldnt be in a better location to everything that a tourist would care about. Mahalo.
