Nice room, not as close to the campus as led to believe..

My son went to a Band camp at the University in June. I needed and wanted a nice place with a pool but more importantly one close to Auburn's campus. I called the Jameson to get a few of my questions answered before I committed to getting a room. When I asked specifically how close the hotel was to the campus, I was told maybe a 1 and 1/2 miles. This was just not the case at all. Maybe closer to 5 miles or more away. I was unhappy about this as I had to take him and pick him up each day at a different time. There is a mall directly across the street and a movie theater directly across from that. Most of the eating places were also very close by. However, I came to be close to the campus. My only other complaint was that the beds were extremely hard. The sign out front when we pulled in was that they had new Dreamium beds. I did not feel they were comfortable but that is personal preference, I suppose. Otherwise, this was a nice place to stay and very clean. The pool was nice and they even have a little work out building. We will be going to Auburn again for another camp. However, I will be making reservations at another place closer to the University. Within walking distance. If you are looking for a nice place to stay for a ballgame though, this may be your place.
