Not happy with security

I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. My only complaint is that I found a bracelet and turned it into security. During a meeting I attended, the owner of the bracelet announced that they had lost it. When I tried to help this person find the bracelet that I gave to security, it was no were to be found.
My thing is that it belonged to a child that was around 12 to 14. I asked why she had such an expensive bracelet with her. She told me it belonged to her mother that had passed away recently.
Now I feel responsible for the bracelet and the hotel is not helping me find it at all.
