Everything you'd expect from a Hilton
Excellent plush hotel on the outskirts of Sorrento. Rooms were large, excellent bathroom with bath/shower. Breakfast was excellent, a buffet with all the fresh fruit and cereals and bread and fillings you could want, served in a dining room overlooking Mt Vesuvius. The room was cleaned twice a day, leaving chocolates on the pillows at night, a nice touch.
There are six large swimming pools, they are deep - 2m/6ft, this is not a family hotel, but then Sorrento is no place for a family holiday anyway. There's a tennis court, gym, and their own lemon grove, where if you're tall enough you can pick your own lemons in season.
The hotel is a 10 minutes walk from the centre of Sorrento up a slight incline - which is quite manageable, thankfully it is not up on the Capo - people staying there have a several hundred feet climb up to their hotels.
The hotel is large - 350 rooms, and attracts the business crowd. However when we were there in June 2004, the hotel was quiet. We booked online at the Hilton website, getting a rate of 150 euros, and when we checked in, they gave us a room upgrade. Overall, a class establishment, fully recommended.
